History

JC Grand started operations in a small Taipei office in 1978. 30 years later, JC Grand has changed markedly, with manufacturing operations both in Taiwan and China. However, one thing has not changed: JC Grand's commitment and dedication to its customers. That is constant.

Below is a short timeline history of the company:

  • May 1978: Taipei office at Ho-Ping East Road established by our current Chairman, James Chen.
  • March 1989: Kangshan Factory, Kaohsiung established.
  • May 1991: Mito Factory, Kaohsiung established.
  • June 1994: Expansion of Kang Shan Factory to 3000 square meters.
  • October 1995: Taipei office expanded and moved to Sung Chiang Road.
  • December 1996: Expansion of Kangshan Factory to include heating lines Certified by ISO 9001.
  • January 1997: Expansion of Kanshan Factory to 5000 square meters and to include plating facilities.
  • December 2000: Received QS 9000 certification for automobile parts.
  • June 2001: Haiyan Factory, Zhejiang, China established.
  • Mar 2002: KangShan and Mito factories expanded.
  • December 2003: Received ICBO Certification (Report ER-6137) for concrete fasteners.
  • January 2004: Update ISO 9000 series to 2001 Edition
  • December 2005: Based on the engineering experience of our new general manager, added CNC machining and die casting to our range of custom "mill spec" products.
  • September 2006: Expansion of Haiyan Factory to include production of long fasteners (> 200 mm or 8 inches).
  • March 2007: SAP goes online company-wide to improve production management, customer requirements tracking, warehousing, billing and accounting.
  • October 2007: A2LA certification for our Taiwan mechanical testing laboratory, JC Precision Laboratories or JPL (named in honor of the famous Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology, the alma mater of our general manager).
  • May 2008: JC Grand's 30-year anniversary.
